OCR European Championships

WHAT ARE THE OCR EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS?

The first edition of the OCR European Championships will be on June 12, 2016. And will be hosted by OCRA BeNeLux.

The OCR European Championship is an independent European competition governed and administered by an alliance of European OCR Associations.
It is a singular independent event with its own identity!

The European Championships wil be held prior to and at the same terrain and obstacles as the ensuing Strong Viking Event.

Believe in yourself and all that you are. Know that there is something inside you that is greater than any obstacle!

This course has been nominated as the best obstacle course in the Netherlands for several years in a row.

These championships are setup for the development and promotion of our sport but also to support the European elite OCR racing talent whilst making the best use of and promoting top European race events.
The OCR European Championships will consist of several qualifying events around Europe culminating in one final event in june 2016, in subsequent years we will rotate where the finals are held based on applications and eligibility..

Obstacle Course Racing is a running event where the participants encounter various obstacles along the way. Examples of obstacles are wooden walls, crawling under barbed wire, swim through ditches, jumping over fire and climbing on rope nets.

The Championships will be hosted on the Strong Viking course at the recreation ground Berendonck (Nijmegen/Wijchen).

There will be cash prize money for the top 3 finishers in the elite wave. The exact prize pot is to be confirmed. Male and female athletes will receive the same prize money.

We will announce the full amount and confirmed prize structure nearer the time.
